Between 2002 and 2004, 8,198 solid organ transplants have been performed in Italy, 108 of them with organs from 59 cadaveric donors with various risk of neoplasia. There were two reported cases of nonmelanoma skin cancer during the follow up of the transplanted patients, which lasted 27.6+/-11.3 months (234 patient-years). In our study, recipients of organs from donors with various degree of neoplasia risk are exposed to a low risk of cancer transmission.}, keywords = {*Tissue Donors, Cadaver, Cohort Studies, Community Health Services, Humans, Incidence, Italy / epidemiology, Living Donors, Neoplasms / *epidemiology, Organ Transplantation / *adverse effects, Postoperative Complications / *epidemiology, Risk Factors}, issn = {0041-1337 (Print) 0041-1337 (Linking)}, doi = {10.1097/01.tp.0000247794.50318.4a 00007890-200701150-00003 [pii]}, author = {Taioli,E. and Mattucci,D.
