A retrospective study showed 24 (1.4%) of 1770 cases of liver and kidney transplants had MRSA infections (in 3.75% of liver transplants), including bacteremia (38% of infections), surgical site infections (intra-abdominal infection in 29%), pneumonia (unlikely donor-derived).
