Anorexia, fever, fatigue, diarrhoea, reduced ejection fraction, elevated troponin level
Demonstration of imputability or root cause: 
Seropositive donors, seroconversion in recipients; Trypanosoma cruzi amastigotes in endomyocardial biopsy, parasitaemia by PCR and trypomastigotes in blood culture. Blood donors were seronegative. Six other patients had received a liver or kidney from these organ donors. None showed evidence of T. cruzi infection.
