Alerting signals, symptoms, evidence of occurrence: 
Asymptomatic (~80%) in the majority of immunocompetent individuals; Fever, dispnea, respiratory failure, seizures, acute flaccid paralysis, encephalitis. Neuroinvasive illess (WNND) in 40-60% of immunocompromised hosts.
Demonstration of imputability or root cause: 
Donor had demonstrable WNV IgM at the time of organ recovery (retrospective testing). 3 out of four organ recipients became infected as demonstrated by Nucleic acid test (RTPCR), IgM and IgG in serum or CSF.
Imputability grade:
