| Abstract | Whether human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) should be an absolute contraindication to heart transplantation has been a topic of recent discussion. There is a paucity of data regarding the expected outcome of heart transplantation in a recipient who is HIV positive. Herein, we report the case and long-term follow-up of a woman who was found to have seroconverted to HIV positive status 1 year after transplant. |
